Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Guardians,

We will be administering our mid-year assessments.  The testing schedule for our class is as follows:

Tuesday, January 15th: Performance Series Reading Assessment (Scantron)

Thursday, January 24th: Performance Series Math Assessment (Scantron)

This computerized program is the student assessment tool used to measure academic growth.

This week we will continue to work on our Leader in Me Habit #2 Begin With the End in Mind.  We will focus on setting goals for the New Year.  We will discuss how thinking ahead allows us to think about what might happen in the future.  We will think ahead and make plans before we take action.  We will talk about the importance of not only thinking about doing something but actually doing it.  We will also discuss Habit # 5  Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood.  We will talk about how great leaders listen to others before they speak and make decisions.

We will be out of school on Monday, January 21 in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, and we will celebrate our 100th Day of School on Tuesday, January 22nd when we return to school.

Please email or contact me using our SeeSaw communication app if you have any questions or concerns.

Hope you have a wonderful week.
