Friday, May 24th  

Friday, May 24th schools will release students at 12:00.

If your child will be attending school on Friday please make arrangements for your child for a 12:00 dismissal.


May 20-24  

1. YMCA End of Year field trip- Monday, May 20th- Send your child to school with their swimsuits under their clothes. In a separate bag send underwear and a towel. Also send a plastic bag for your child’s wet swim suit.

2. Tuesday, May 21st @ 11:00 in the auditorium- Awards Day- PLEASE park in one of the church parking lots and go directly to the auditorium after you sign in at the office. Do not come to the classroom.

3. Thursday, May 23rd- NO SCHOOL- teacher inservice day

4. Friday, May 24th- Last day of school- usually a half day. Report Card pick up outside front doors of school from 10:00-11:30. If you would like your report card mailed please send in a self-addressed stamped envelope no later than Wednesday, May 22nd.


May 13-17  

This week is review week no new reading skills, no spelling or dictation test.

2. Your child should be reading at home every night for at least 20 minutes.

3.   Your child should be reading at home every night for at least 30 minutes. Library books should come back to school every day.

Week of May 21-25  

There is no school for students on Thursday, May 24th.

Autauga County Schools last day for the 2017-18 school year is Friday, May 25th.  School will be dismissed at 12:00 noon on this day. 

·         Report cards will be issued on Friday, May 25.  If students are not present on this day, parents are invited to pick up report cards at the school between: 10:00-11:30.  Staff will be set up in the front parking lot and you may “drive through” and pick those up.  If parents would like the report card mailed, please send in a self-addressed envelope to the homeroom teacher by Wednesday, May 23.  Any report cards not picked up by 12:00 on Friday, May 25 will remain in PPS front office.

·         PPS front office will follow the summer hours listed below:

    May 29- June 4:  7:30-3:00

    June 5-July 17:  9:00-12:00

End of the year excitement is building and with that some behavior issues are beginning. Please remind your child that they are still in school and that the same rules and procedures are to be followed. It is still super important to be kind, polite, and respectful. They are also still expected to do their best work and try their hardest.

The week of April 9th is Review Week. There will not be a spelling test or any new phonics/language arts skills tested on. We will be taking our Unit 5 review assessment.

Thursday, April 12th is PPS Cubs Create Art Show. Come see the amazing art work your child has created and join us for dinner as well. A note with all the info went home last Wednesday. If you need a new paper just let me know. Cant wait to see you all there!!!

Spring Pictures (individual and class) will be taken on Thursday, March 1st. Class pictures are pre order.

This is Dr. Seuss week.  Dr. Seuss hats will be for sale starting on Monday for $5. Monday- wear your Seuss hat; Tuesday- wear wacky socks; Wednesday- wear Green; Thursday- wear your smile- picture day; Friday- wear your pps shirt.

Skills for the week: 3 digit subtracting with regrouping, suffixes- ly, ful, er, or, ish; pronouns; fact & opinion; George Washington/Abraham Lincoln, make a tent stem project, build landforms with playdoh.
