News from Lambert's Nest

We are slowly but surely getting back in the swing of things!  I have really talked to the little people about the importance of this second semester.  You will hear your child say quite often that Mrs. Lambert says that if we want to be treated like we are going to be a second grader next year; that we need to work and act like one!

We are scheduled to take the Reading Performance Series test this week.  Please make sure that your child gets a good night's sleep, has breakfast, and is ON TIME to school this Friday, the 18th.

I do not allow my little people to bring their AR books home.  This is a personal decision on my part.  So many of them forget them or lose them.  I have found that it is much better to leave them at school.  They are allowed to read them in the hall before school, after morning work, any time during the day.  I have started a "Motivational Moment".  Each time they make a 100 on an AR book -- they earn a trip to the "Treat Gadget".  This has worked GREAT this week.  Please reinforce their need to take at least 3 or 4 AR test with at least a 90% average each week.  We are going to have a STREET PARTY on March 22nd, they will attend only if they have met the AR Challenge.

Blessings,

June Lambert
